    Iberdrola<\/a> has held <\/strong>a new edition of its Global Supplier of the Year Awards<\/strong> at its corporate headquarters in Bilbao \u2014 the Iberdrola Tower \u2014 attended by partners from countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, <\/strong>Portugal, Croatia, Korea and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

    On this occasion, Iberdrola’s Global Supplier of the Year Awards, <\/strong>which brought together more than 100 partner companies,<\/strong> were divided into six categories. The Group awarded its Special Supplier of the Year Award<\/strong> to its British partner KIRBY, with whom it is working hand in hand to modernise the country’s electricity grid.<\/p>\n

    In line with the Group’s commitment to achieving a more efficient and resilient energy system, <\/strong>AWS Amazon (United States) and Electrot\u00e9cnica Arteche Hermanos (Spain)<\/strong> were awarded in the Digitalisation and New Technologies and Innovation categories,<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n

    As part of Iberdrola’s commitment to industrial development and job creation, the award-winning partners were NKT Cables Portugal, in the Best Equipment Manufacturer<\/strong> Supplier category, and Grupo de Arquitectura y Obra Civil SL – GAROC (Spain), in the Best Works and Services Supplier<\/strong> category.<\/p>\n

    Finally, under the umbrella of promoting competitiveness and sustainability, the Company recognised the Austrian company Andritz Hydro in the Involvement category and the Croatian company KON\u010cAR \u2013 Distribution and Special Transformers Inc. in the Sustainability section.<\/p>\n

    Among others, Pedro Azagra, Global CEO of Iberdrola<\/strong>, and Mario Ruiz-Tagle, CEO of Iberdrola Spain,<\/strong> participated in the awards ceremony.<\/p>\n

    Pedro Azagra stated<\/strong> that “these awards reflect our commitment to a strong, innovative and sustainable supply chain.<\/strong> We recognise the essential role our suppliers play in advancing electrification. Iberdrola has been leading this strategy for more than two decades under the chairmanship of Ignacio Gal\u00e1n, promoting a self-sufficient, secure and competitive energy system capable of responding to global challenges <\/strong>and generating value in every territory where we operate.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

    Iberdrola’s supply chain allows it to plan investments with confidence and to confidently pursue its electrification plans with renewable energies, <\/strong>smart grids and storage.<\/p>\n

    Transformative plan to drive electrification and create value<\/h2>\n

    Last September in London, Iberdrola presented a new transformative plan for 2025-2028<\/strong> that envisages investments of \u20ac58 billion,<\/strong> with nearly two-thirds earmarked for the United States and the United Kingdom.<\/strong> Of this figure, \u20ac37 billion will be allocated<\/strong> to electricity grids and \u20ac21 billion to renewable generation and customer projects.<\/p>\n

    These investments will involve purchases worth \u20ac65 billion<\/strong> from 20,000 suppliers that support 500,000 jobs worldwide.<\/strong>\u00a0In addition, the company plans<\/strong> to hire 15,000 new employees over the next four years <\/strong>and contribute \u00a340 billion<\/strong> to the public coffers of the countries where it operates.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
