Morocco is simultaneously expanding international lobbying around its autonomy proposal, accelerating territorial development plans and preparing major infrastructure projects linked to the 2030 World Cup, which it will co host with Spain and Portugal.

Abdelghani Serrar, a political science professor at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in El Jadida, said these projects require “a strong and cohesive governmental majority” capable of transforming strategic state priorities into an operational government program.

Serrar pointed in particular to growing international support for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, including backing reflected in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 adopted on Oct. 31, 2025, alongside the launch of a new generation of integrated territorial development programs.

The debate is also reviving criticism of Morocco’s coalition system and candidate selection processes. Serrar warned that parties seeking to lead the next government would face pressure to field “competent and credible” candidates while avoiding alliances built purely around electoral arithmetic rather than programmatic coherence.

He said Morocco’s current coalition had already exposed the limits of what he described as “fragile and hybrid alliances” lacking sufficient political cohesion, raising broader questions over whether the next elections will produce managerial continuity or a more disciplined governing bloc capable of handling the state’s expanding strategic agenda.

Rephrase in a different way as if you were a native American speaker as a content creation expert and do not talk about yourself or your experience in the text and do not show yourself as an artificial intelligence who wrote and fill the bullet point in the topic and speak the heart of the topic itself and dont take date of blog in ther first and dont take text like box of newsliter subscribe on post from contentand romove all linke insert in content and and remove all affiliate disclosure phrases on content like this “This post may contain Amazon or other affiliate links that allow us to earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
