The National Unions Coordination for the Road Freight Transport Sector has rejected the decision to change subsidy payments from a monthly to a bi-monthly system, calling it an unclear and improvised measure that has added confusion and made conditions harder for professionals in the sector.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the union body, comprising the Moroccan Labor Union, the National Labor Union in Morocco, the General Union of Moroccan Workers, and the Democratic Confederation of Labor, criticized what it described as \u201cgovernment silence over fuel lobbies,\u201d saying this undermines citizens\u2019 purchasing power and the competitiveness of transport companies.<\/p>\n
They also considered that the new subsidy payment mechanism is an attempt to circumvent the reality of inflation, which is affecting their incomes.<\/p>\n

The unions called on the government to urgently introduce \u201cprofessional diesel,\u201d saying it is the only sustainable solution to break the cycle of insufficient subsidies, as well as what they described as the \u201cgreed of fuel lobbies.\u201d<\/p>\n
They also urged the government to enforce legal mechanisms to regulate profit margins in fuel distribution companies to ensure economic fairness.<\/p>\n
The coordination said that if their demands continue to be ignored, unions may go for more escalatory protest actions in the coming period, stressing that stability in the road freight transport sector is essential for social stability.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
