Some of the buyers were allegedly linked to individuals mentioned in cases involving international drug-trafficking networks, they said.

Investigators are examining whether the amounts paid were consistent with the buyers’ declared income and financial circumstances, while tracing the source of funds, the bank accounts through which payments were made and the methods of payment used.

The inquiry is also examining whether some purchasers acted as fronts for other individuals. According to the sources, investigators have sought to identify the people who actually financed the purchases and determine the beneficial owners of vehicles registered under other names.

The review has included transactions involving intermediaries or third parties who made payments on behalf of vehicle buyers. Investigators are tracing the financial and commercial links between those parties, the registered owners and the people who allegedly financed the purchases.

Authorities are also examining vehicles that were resold or transferred to new owners shortly after purchase. The investigation is looking at resale prices, payment methods, the identities of subsequent buyers and the destination of proceeds from the sales to determine whether the transactions followed ordinary commercial patterns or formed part of a broader movement of funds.

The financial review has involved dealers specializing in new and used vehicles, with investigators seeking to reconstruct transactions from the initial order and payment through delivery and subsequent ownership transfers.

The sources said particular attention was being paid to intermediaries who repeatedly appeared in closely timed transactions and to their relationships with buyers and financial backers. The aim, they said, was to establish the beneficial ownership of vehicles beyond the names appearing on official documents.

The investigation is also examining whether the luxury-car market may have been used to convert potentially illicit funds into high-value physical assets that could later be resold, giving the proceeds the appearance of legitimate commercial transactions.

The sources said investigators continue to follow transactions in Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier, focusing on repeated high-value purchases, payments made by third parties and rapid resales as potential indicators in an ongoing effort to trace suspected money laundering connected to international drug trafficking.

No finding of criminal liability has been reported in the case, and the allegations remain subject to the ongoing investigation.

Rephrase in a different way as if you were a native American speaker as a content creation expert and do not talk about yourself or your experience in the text and do not show yourself as an artificial intelligence who wrote and fill the bullet point in the topic and speak the heart of the topic itself and dont take date of blog in ther first and dont take text like box of newsliter subscribe on post from content and romove all linke insert in content and and remove all affiliate disclosure phrases on content like this “This post may contain Amazon or other affiliate links that allow us to earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
