The meeting marked the conclusion of the Country Program II, a collaborative initiative focused on enhancing support, partnership, and cooperation to implement crucial structural reforms in various sectors, including public governance, the economy, social integration, and territorial development. This initiative is designed to incorporate best practices from the OECD, as noted in a statement from the Head of Government\u2019s office.<\/p>\n
Akhannouch emphasized the significant socio-economic transformations Morocco is experiencing under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, which have positioned the nation as an emerging economic powerhouse in the region. This progress is underpinned by ambitious strategies across key sectors, such as renewable energy, green hydrogen, the automotive industry, and aeronautics.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Akhannouch acknowledged the promising findings from the OECD’s first economic survey of Morocco, which provided a comprehensive analysis of the country’s economic landscape. Both sides expressed their desire to continue nurturing this dynamic bilateral partnership and explore new avenues for fruitful collaboration.<\/p>\n
The conclusion of Country Program II represents a pivotal step in reinforcing constructive cooperation between Morocco and the OECD. Morocco was the first nation in the North Africa and Middle East region, and one of only four countries globally, to establish a Country Program Memorandum of Understanding with the OECD.<\/p>\n
