Since Dissanayake&#8217;s party, the NPP, previously earned the people&#8217;s mandate, he felt compelled to create a cabinet representative of that election outcome.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The dissolution of parliament means that existing ministers continue to serve in an interim capacity.
