This route will be available throughout the high season, with the final departure scheduled for October 29, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the key details about the new service:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Flight Frequency<\/strong>: PLAY will operate two flights per week between Reykjavik and Faro, utilizing Airbus A320neo aircraft. The planes accommodate either 174 or 180 passengers in a single-class configuration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flight Schedule<\/strong>: The flights are set for Wednesdays and Saturdays.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Capacity<\/strong>: Over the span of six and a half months, the airline plans to conduct 58 flights, offering nearly 11,000 seats each way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Faro marks PLAY&#8217;s fourth destination in Portugal, joining Lisbon and Porto. Additionally, the airline will be adding Madeira and Marrakech to its routes as of October, marking its entry into the African market.<\/p>\n<p>Further route developments include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Funchal, Madeira<\/strong>: Service starts October 15, with flights operating on Tuesdays.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marrakech<\/strong>: Scheduled to begin on October 17, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cardiff<\/strong>: Limited operations will take place in October and November, with specific flight dates already determined.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aalborg<\/strong>: Service expected to commence on June 7, 2025, with flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The airline&#8217;s fleet currently consists of several Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, all well-maintained and averaging four years of age. Reykjavik Airport serves as PLAY&#8217;s main hub, currently facilitating over 75 international routes, supporting traffic between North America and Europe through Iceland.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, the airport achieved record passenger numbers, with nearly 10 million travelers.
