The more intense focus on sustainability in tour development will also be applied to EF\u2019s tour development methodology for the over 100 tours it already runs in Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThailand has been specifically interested in building more sustainable tours to their destination,\u201d an EF Ultimate Break spokesperson told Skift. \u201cWe work daily to make responsible tour design a focus and will partner with any tourism authority or destination marketing organization who wants to join us in this effort across all our EF World Journey brands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heather Leisman, president of EF Ultimate Break, said responsible tourism actions include limiting the company\u2019s carbon impact where possible, adhering to strict animal welfare guidelines, preserving landmarks, and supporting local communities.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, one of the new company\u2019s new \u201chighlights of Thailand\u201d\u00a0tours will include visits to an elephant sanctuary but won\u2019t allow elephant rides or visits to places where animals are used for entertainment, such as zoos or aquariums.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership with\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.myclimate.org\/en\/?etcc_med=SEA&amp;etcc_par=Google&amp;etcc_cmp=%5Bmyclimate%5D+ROW_EN_ohne+CH_4&amp;etcc_grp=59870930760&amp;etcc_bky=myclimate&amp;etcc_mty=e&amp;etcc_plc=&amp;etcc_ctv=363117764536&amp;etcc_bde=c&amp;etcc_var=CjwKCAiAxKy5BhBbEiwAYiW--1jHrCnIl060jco-DZQSIJg5Hna1dkAEXpkIQTCWv8jzEkr-p8IKWBoCsQYQAvD_BwE&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiAxKy5BhBbEiwAYiW--1jHrCnIl060jco-DZQSIJg5Hna1dkAEXpkIQTCWv8jzEkr-p8IKWBoCsQYQAvD_BwE\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MyClimate<\/a>\u00a0was developed to build measurement tools to help EF\u2019s market development teams measure carbon impact when they build tours, such as the impact of sending travelers by train or plane and what reductions are possible if electric buses are introduced.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-interest-in-sustainable-travel-offerings\">Interest in Sustainable Travel Offerings<\/h3>\n<p>A September 2024 survey conducted by EF Ultimate Break and Qualtrics Research of American and Canadian travelers aged 18 to 35 found that 56% said they would book the more sustainable travel choice even if it cost more.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>EF Ultimate Break is one of three tour operator brands within\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.efworldjourneys.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EF World Journeys<\/a>, an adult leisure travel company that is part of\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ef.edu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EF Education First<\/a>. For many years, the parent company has had <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/impact.ef.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">sustainability efforts<\/a>, such as collaboration with the\u00a0Eden Reforestation Projects\u00a0in Kenya, Madagascar, and Mozambique, which resulted in the planting of nine million mangrove trees. <\/p>\n<p>The latest effort adds new projects.
