Spanish police announced Saturday the arrest of three supporters accused of making racist insults towards FC Barcelona players during the \u201cClasico\u201d match against Real Madrid on October 26.<\/p>\n
Two of the suspects are adults, while the third is a minor. They are charged with making \u201cxenophobic statements that attacked the dignity and moral integrity of two football players\u201d at the Santiago Bernab\u00e9u Stadium in Madrid, according to a police statement.<\/p>\n
The three individuals were captured on video by other supporters using mobile phones, as well as by the television operator broadcasting the game, which allowed police to identify and locate them, the statement said.<\/p>\n

The racist insults, accompanied by monkey gestures, were widely shared on social media following the match, which Barcelona won 4-0. Real Madrid strongly condemned \u201cany form of racist, xenophobic, or violent behavior,\u201d and stated that an investigation had been launched to \u201clocate and identify the perpetrators of these deplorable insults\u201d and pursue appropriate legal and disciplinary actions.<\/p>\n
