Lufthansa has announced the launch of flights between Munich and Denver using Airbus A380-800 aircraft beginning <\/span>April 30th<\/b>. The airline will operate for the first time to the Colorado capital with its largest passenger aircraft, which are configured for 509 passengers in four seating classes (<\/span>8 seats<\/b> in <\/span>First Class<\/b>, <\/span>78 seats<\/b> in <\/span>Business Class<\/b>, <\/span>52 seats <\/b>in <\/span>Premium Economy <\/b>and <\/span>371 seats <\/b>in <\/span>Economy<\/b>).<\/span><\/p>\n

Denver will become the sixth destination for Lufthansa\u2019s Airbus A380s during <\/span>summer 2025<\/b>, all of which will be offered to\/from Munich Airport. Lufthansa has been reactivating Airbus A380s during the last months, which were withdrawn as a consequence of the <\/span>COVID-19 pandemic<\/b>. According to our database, eight A380s are in operation at the time of publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018The Airbus A380 service to Denver is not only a first for Lufthansa, but also for the airport itself.<\/i><\/b> It is the first time that a scheduled flight with an aircraft of this size will land there. Passengers, airport visitors and crews love the A380, the flying experience and the feeling of space. At the same time, the A380 offers more premium seats than any other aircraft,\u2019<\/span><\/i> said <\/span>Heiko Reitz, CCO Lufthansa Airlines.<\/b><\/p>\n

By summer 2025<\/b>, eight Airbus A380s will be based at Munich International Airport, with the United States and India as its regular markets. The airline will offer <\/span>3,563 seats a week<\/b> on each route per leg, which it will provide with this schedule:<\/span><\/p>\n

Airbus A380s<\/span><\/h3>\n

Currently, as per our database, the German airline operates to Delhi and Bangkok from Munich with these aircraft. Delhi has a daily flight, which it will maintain during <\/span>summer<\/b>, while services to the Thai capital will be performed with A380s <\/span>until the end of March.<\/b><\/p>\n

Flight LH 772\/773 on the Frankfurt \u2013 Bangkok route began to be served with Airbus A380-800s on <\/span>October 26th<\/b>, <\/span>2024<\/b>, for <\/span>winter 2024\/25<\/b>. The same occurred through <\/span>winter 2023\/24<\/b>, operating from <\/span>October 28th<\/b>, <\/span>2023 <\/b>to <\/span>March 29th<\/b>, <\/span>2024<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the <\/span>winter season<\/b>, Lufthansa resumes flights between the two cities on Airbus A350-900s, which are configured with 293 seats in three classes. The airline maintains the daily frequency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding other routes, on <\/span>January 13th <\/b>was Lufthansa\u2019s last service to Los Angeles from Munich with A380s. Flights on the MUC-LAX route by Airbus A380s will return on <\/span>March 30th<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

At publication time, Lufthansa\u2019s operational Airbus A380-800s have the registrations D-AIMA, D-AIMB, D-AIMC, D-AIMH, D-AIMK, D-AIML, D-AIMM and D-AIMN, which average <\/span>12 years of age.<\/b><\/p>\n

Between <\/span>February <\/b>and <\/span>April 2020<\/b>, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the German airline withdrew all its Airbus A380-800s. By <\/span>mid-2023<\/b>, because of delays in deliveries of new aircraft such as Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X, Lufthansa announced the reactivation of the Airbus A380s, returning eight of 14. The A380s D-AIMD, D-AIME, D-AIMF, D-AIMG, D-AIMI and D-AIMJ did not resume operations, being stored since then in Teruel (TEV\/LETL) or Lourdes (LBE\/LFBT).<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the eight Airbus A380s, <\/span>306 other aircraft <\/b>are part of Lufthansa\u2019s fleet, including Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321-100, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A330-300, Airbus A340-300, Airbus A340-600, Airbus A350-900, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 747-8i, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and CRJ-900.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lufthansa Group\u2019s fleet exceeds <\/span>900 aircraft<\/b>, taking into account all the airlines belonging to the Group, as well as those of ITA Airways, its latest acquisition.<\/span><\/p>\n

With regard to other fleet developments, the Group announced in <\/span>January 2025 <\/b>the order of <\/span>40 <\/b>Boeing 737 MAX 8, which will be incorporated by Eurowings from <\/span>2027<\/b>. The investment is worth <\/span>US$ 5 billion.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lufthansa Group intends to modernize Eurowings\u2019 fleet, currently consisting of 26 Airbus A319-100s, 34 Airbus A320-200s, 7 Airbus A320neo, 6 Airbus A321-200s and 5 Airbus A321neo. The 737 MAXs will replace the Airbus A319s, averaging <\/span>16 years old.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lufthansa has been operating non-stop between Munich and Denver for <\/span>more than nine years<\/b>, and <\/span>25 <\/b>from Frankfurt. By <\/span>summer 2025<\/b>, the company schedules 28 weekly flights to the US city from Germany, with 14 services per week each.<\/span><\/p>\n
