Even more striking, the intensity of deprivation, which measures how many basic needs are unmet, could reach as high as 42% in those affected.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When it comes to gender equality, Morocco didn\u2019t fare well. The country was placed in the fifth and lowest group in terms of gender development, with a score of 0.859, highlighting ongoing inequality between men and women in access to resources and opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On a global scale, Iceland took the number one spot in this year\u2019s index, followed by Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, and Germany.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>At the bottom of the list were countries facing severe crises, including South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Somalia, Chad, Niger, and Mali.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This year\u2019s report also zoomed in on the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on human development.
