British MP Fabian Hamilton says the relationship between the UK and Morocco is growing stronger and shouldn\u2019t be limited to just supporting Morocco\u2019s autonomy plan for the Sahara.<\/span><\/p>\n In an opinion piece published on Politics.co.uk , Hamilton called Morocco a \u201ctrusted and smart ally,\u201d highlighting the country\u2019s key role in fighting terrorism, human trafficking, and countering Russian influence in the Sahel region.<\/span><\/p>\n Hamilton, who co-chairs the UK\u2019s cross-party parliamentary group on Morocco, said that after the recent visit by Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Rabat, the partnership between the two countries is no longer just about diplomacy.
