Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao issued the protest during talks with EU Trade Commissioner Maro\u0161 \u0160ef\u010dovi\u010d on Tuesday, according to a statement from China\u2019s Ministry of Commerce. The objection comes in response to the EU\u2019s 18th package of sanctions targeting Russia over its ongoing war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Chinese side strongly opposes the inclusion of two Chinese financial institutions in the EU\u2019s sanctions,\u201d the ministry said, without naming the banks.<\/p>\n
