The aircraft, a <strong>Boeing 737-275,<\/strong> performed its first flight on <strong>November 16th, 1968,<\/strong> and was incorporated <strong>10 days later.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On <strong>December 17th, 1968, Pacific Western Airlines<\/strong> operated its <strong>first scheduled flight<\/strong> with this <strong>Boeing 737-200,<\/strong> registered <strong>CF-PWD,<\/strong> on the <strong>\u201cStampeder Service\u201d<\/strong> connecting <strong>Alberta<\/strong> and <strong>British Columbia.<\/strong> This was <strong>the first regular flight of a 737 in Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_58031\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58031\" style=\"width: 1500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/257382\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-58031\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PWA\u2019s 737-2T7(Adv) with registry C-FPWD \u2013 November 1983<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A few days later, <strong>CP<\/strong><b> Air, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">another carrier founded in the <\/span><b>1940s, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">whose original name was<\/span><b> Canadian Pacific Air Lines and renamed CP Air in July 1968,<\/b> introduced Canada\u2019s second Boeing 737-200. As well as Canada\u2019s first 737, t<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">his aircraft <\/span><b>was produced at Seattle Boeing Field,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> making its <\/span><b>first test flight on November 25th, 1968<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. I<\/span>t departed for <b>Vancouver International Airport in December 1968,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and commenced regular operations <\/span><b>in early 1969.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On <\/span><b>March 15th, 1970, Transair, a Canadian airline based in Winnipeg, added its first Boeing 737-200 to its fleet.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The 737, registered as <\/span><b>CF-TAO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, arrived in <\/span><b>Canada in April 1970 and operated for Transair until late 1979.<\/b> <b>Pacific Western Airlines <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">began talks to <\/span><b>purchase Transair,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which was facing financial difficulties and suffering significant losses. Finally, on <\/span><b>December 1st, 1979, Pacific Western completed the acquisition of Transair, ending its operations after 23 years.<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_58006\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58006\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jetphotos.com\/photo\/8414808\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-58006\" src=\"https:\/\/www.flightradar24.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/732-CP-Air-CF-CPD.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"797\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.flightradar24.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/732-CP-Air-CF-CPD.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.flightradar24.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/732-CP-Air-CF-CPD-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.flightradar24.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/732-CP-Air-CF-CPD-1024x680.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.flightradar24.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/732-CP-Air-CF-CPD-768x510.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\"\/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-58006\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">CF-CPD, CP Air\u2019s first Boeing 737-200 \u2013 November 1977<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to <\/span><b>Pacific Western Airlines, CP Air,<\/b> and <b>Transair<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Air Canada, Astoria, Canada 3000 Airlines, Canadian International Airlines, Canadian North, Canjet Airlines, Chrono Aviation, Eastern Provincial Airlines, First Air, Inter-Canadien, Kelowna Flightcraft, Noranda Mines, Nordair, Quebecair, Royal Airlines, Vacationair, Vistajet, WestJet,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><b>Zip<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> were some of the operators of the <\/span><b>Boeing 737-200 in Canada<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, with <\/span><b>CP Air leading the list<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, having operated these aircraft between <\/span><b>1968 and 1987.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Air Canada added several Boeing 737-200s in 2001<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, following the acquisition of <\/span><b>Canadian International Airlines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. These aircraft had previously operated with <\/span><b>CP Air <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and<\/span><b> Canadian Airlines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, flying within <\/span><b>Canada <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and the <\/span><b>United States for about 30 years.<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_58007\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58007\" operation for more than 50 years, the <\/span><b>Boeing 737-200 continues in service with some Canadian airlines.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Its operations are<\/span><b> focused on gravel runways,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which are <\/span><b>common at several Canadian airports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, especially in <\/span><b>northern Canada<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, as the <\/span><b>737-200 is certified for this type of operation.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> At the same time, these aircraft also serve major Canadian airports, such as <\/span><b>Montreal\u2019s Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport and Toronto\u2019s Pearson Airport,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> among others, <\/span><b>flying to\/from airports with paved runways.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to our database, <\/span><b>12 Boeing 737-200s are currently active between four different Canadian airlines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><b>Nolinor Aviation is the main operator,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> followed by <\/span><b>Air Inuit, Glencore Canada and Buffalo Airways.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Almost all of their operations in <\/span><b>northern Canada are on gravel runways,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> with <\/span><b>Cambridge Bay<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (YCB\/CYCB), <\/span><b>Goose Lake<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Kattiniq <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(YAU \/ CTP9), <\/span><b>Meadowbank<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><b>Resolute <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(YRB\/CYRB) and <\/span><b>Taloyoak <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: The aircraft received <\/span><b>Nolinor Aviation\u2019s livery in Dothan,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as it will soon begin operations for Nolinor. It was <\/span><b>re-registered as C-FFTW<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and apparently maintains the same seating configuration it had with Chrono Aviation <\/span><b>(120 seats in single class).<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As a result, <\/span><b>Chrono Aviation no longer has any Boeing 737-200s in its fleet,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which operated between <\/span><b>July 2018 and May 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><b>C-FBIM, C-FYPN, C-GGUL <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><b>C-GTVO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> were their registrations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Chrono Aviation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in accordance with our database,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> currently operates with one <\/span><b>Boeing 737-8Q8<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and two <\/span><b>De Havilland Canada DHC-8-106 Dash
