The government\u2019s \u20ac8 billion plan includes schools, hospitals, luxury hotels, desalination plants, and the \u20ac1.2 billion Dakhla Atlantic Port. Once completed, the port will handle large ships and integrate logistics, industrial complexes, and fishing facilities to connect southern Morocco with African, European, and American markets.<\/p>\n<p>Officials interviewed in the France 2 report said the goal is to transform Dakhla into an intercontinental trade and tourism hub while driving socio-economic growth across the south of the country. Government investment in fishing, a key part of the local economy, will provide new processing and packaging plants, and infrastructure upgrades will improve roads, make energy more reliable and accessible, and strengthen industrial capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The documentary also reported that France is backing the effort financially.
