The board of directors of Marjane Holding announced Wednesday the appointment of Mourad Alem as the company’s new chief executive officer, effective October 8, replacing Ayoub Azami, who will take on new responsibilities within the Al Mada group.
Alem brings over 30 years of international experience in household appliances and consumer goods. He began his career in France in telecommunications and events before joining Whirlpool, where he oversaw the group’s expansion across Morocco, North and West Africa, later managing regions spanning Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He also held senior roles at Electrolux, leading operations across the Mediterranean and African markets.
A graduate of KEDGE Business School and University College Dublin, Alem takes the helm of Marjane at a time of ongoing modernization in Morocco’s retail and distribution sectors. The board thanked Azami for his decade of leadership and praised his contributions to Marjane’s growth and transformation.
