Flight delays and cancellations continued into Monday following a weekend of disruptions caused by staffing shortages during the government shutdown.
As of Monday afternoon, there were 2,103 cancellations and 4,745 delays, according to FlightAware. Over the course of the weekend, there were nearly 20,000 delays and 5,000 cancellations.
The disruptions came after the Trump administration ordered airlines to cut flights at the 40 busiest airports in the U.S. by 10%. The Federal Aviation Administration said airlines would start with 4% cuts on November 7 and then work up toward 10% by November 14.
