The Ministry of Tourism announced that Morocco moved from 41st to 31st spot in the World Tourism Organization’s ranking of tourism revenues, between 2019 and 2023.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted that this advancement is one of the strongest performances among the top 50 tourist destinations worldwide, reflecting the dynamism and resilience of Morocco’s tourism sector, as well as the effectiveness of its strategy.
The ministry pointed out that the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap sets an ambitious target of generating 120 billion dirhams in foreign exchange revenues by 2026.
To achieve this goal, the action plan focuses on two key areas: increasing the number of tourists to reach 17.5 million by 2026 and enhancing the national tourism offering.
The statement concluded that the government plans to double tourism infrastructure and offer innovative and diverse recreational experiences for visitors.
