The Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) disciplinary committee has imposed sanctions on Morocco’s football federation, as well as the federations of Kenya and Zambia, for infractions during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Morocco’s federation was fined 5,000 US dollars, half of it suspended, over “inappropriate conduct” by national team players during the group stage match against Kenya.
CAF warned the suspended fine would be enforced if a similar violation occurs before the end of the tournament, without detailing the incident.
Zambia’s federation was fined 5,000 US dollars for breaching media regulations by failing to present its head coach at a mandatory pre-match press conference before facing DR Congo.
Kenya’s federation received a 50,000 US dollar penalty for multiple safety breaches during its game against Morocco, alongside a warning that future violations could see matches moved to another stadium.
CAF also ordered Kenya to strengthen security measures and ensure adequate match organisation staff.
