Morocco’s travel receipts rose 14.7% year-on-year to MAD 100.03 billion (USD 10.8 billion) at the end of September 2025, up from MAD 87.24 billion a year earlier, according to data from Morocco’s foreign exchange regulator, the Office des Changes.
Travel-related spending by Moroccans abroad also increased 9.5% to MAD 24.4 billion, compared with MAD 22.29 billion in the same period of 2024.

Morocco’s tourism sector is one of the country’s top sources of foreign exchange, in addition to remittances and industrial exports. The sector has benefited from record international arrivals and expanded air connectivity, driven by new routes launched by Morocco’s air carrier, Royal Air Maroc and low-cost carriers targeting Europe and the Middle East.
The kingdom welcomed 15 million visitors in 2024, surpassing pre-pandemic levels for the first time. The country is planning to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026 under its national tourism strategy.
