Moroccan Veteran actor Abdelkader Moutaa passed away on Tuesday, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy that shaped Moroccan theater, cinema, and television for decades.
The news was announced by filmmaker Ahmed Bouaroua, who paid a heartfelt tribute to the late artist.
“Abdelkader Moutaa has left us… the voice that resembled the homeland, the face that carried the truth of humanity before embodying any role,” he wrote.
Moutaa had been away from the public eye in recent years due to serious health issues, including the gradual loss of his eyesight, which forced him to retire from acting and public appearances.
A pioneer of Moroccan drama, Moutaa belonged to the generation that helped build the foundations of national television and theater. He was known for his powerful performances, distinctive voice, and deep emotional presence on screen and stage.
