Long-standing talabat leader returns to Qatar with more than 10 years of experience across the company’s operations in several GCC countries.
talabat, the leading everyday app in the MENA region, has announced the appointment of Moaiad Aqel as Managing Director of talabat Qatar, bringing more than 10 years of experience within talabat, and extensive commercial and operational expertise across the region.
Aqel returns to Qatar after serving as Managing Director of talabat Bahrain since July 2022, where he led the company’s strategic direction, commercial growth and operations.
Prior to this, he spent more than three years in Doha as Director of Sales for talabat Qatar, following his role as Head of Account Management for talabat in Saudi Arabia.
In his new role, Aqel will lead talabat Qatar’s continued growth, with a focus on strengthening relationships with customers, partners and riders, while advancing operational excellence and creating greater everyday value across the platform.
“Qatar is a market I know well and one that has played an important role in my journey with talabat, so I am very excited to be returning in this new capacity. I look forward to working closely with our talented team, building on the strong foundations already in place, strengthening our partnerships, and continuing to create greater value and experiences for our customers across Qatar,” Aqel said.
“Developing strong leaders from within has always been an important part of how we build for the future,” said Bader Al-Ghanim, Chief International Officer at talabat.
“Moaiad’s appointment reflects this approach and ensures continuity of leadership while bringing a fresh perspective to the opportunities ahead,” Al-Ghanim added.
“As we continue to evolve our business in Qatar, his ability to bring teams together, make informed decisions and translate market opportunities into meaningful growth will be instrumental in shaping our next chapter.”
With more than 18 years of experience spanning food delivery, e-commerce, hospitality, sales and business growth, Aqel has built his career around developing high-performing teams, strengthening strategic partnerships and driving customer-centric growth.
His appointment reflects talabat’s continued focus on developing experienced leadership from within the business and building on its long-term commitment to the Qatar market.
