The airline announced the start of a new seasonal service, which will connect two iconic cities in Europe and America. Norse will begin flying between Fiumicino and LAX airports as of May 22nd, 2025, three times a week using the above-mentioned aircraft, configured for 338 passengers in two classes.
Rome Fiumicino will become Norse Atlantic Airways’ second seasonal destination from Los Angeles. Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) is its other summer route, to return during 2025.
At the time of publication, Norse will offer 1,014 weekly seats between Rome and Los Angeles, approximately 4,500 seats a month. The carrier will have one competitor on the FCO-LAX route, ITA Airways, which currently operates Airbus A350-900s seating 334 passengers.

On October 25th, Norse UK will perform its last seasonal flight between London Gatwick and Los Angeles. The airline had operated since June 30th, 2023, providing a daily frequency throughout the last two summers.
With respect to Paris Charles de Gaulle, Norse had flights from Los Angeles as of May 1st, offering one service per day during peak season. Like London Gatwick, it had operated three times weekly effective September.
Norse Atlantic Group has 12 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in its fleet, configured with 338 and 344 seats, depending on the aircraft. As per our database, seven 787-9s have Norwegian registration (LN-FNA, LN-FNB, LN-FNC, LN-FND, LN-FNL, LN-LNO and LN-LNR), operating for Norse Atlantic Airways AS, while another five for Norse Atlantic UK (G-CKOF, G-CKWD, G-CKWN, G-CKWP and G-CKWS).
The 12 Boeing 787s average 6 years old, all of which were part of Norwegian’s subsidiaries prior to the Coronavirus pandemic.
At publication time, Los Angeles has flights to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Istanbul, London Heathrow, Madrid, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Rome, Warsaw and Zurich, with respect to cities in Europe.

Due to the end of summer season 2024, airlines are ceasing to operate their summer schedule, reducing frequencies or making their last flight until the following season.
In addition to Norse with London Gatwick and Paris Charles de Gaulle, other summer routes that recently ended to/from Los Angeles were Barcelona with Level and Vienna with Austrian.
Regarding other news, Norse Atlantic Airways set an average load factor record during September, reaching 89%. It represents an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Furthermore, in September 2024, the airline carried 146,688 passengers between 513 regular flights and 29 charter services. Norse completed all operations for the month, with no cancellations, and 81% of these flights landed within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrive time.
“We are delighted to mark another record month for the airline with 89% load factor being the highest in our history. Having begun to reduce our own network flying in line with seasonality I am pleased to highlight that our charter operations have in turn increased this month and will continue to do so.
In September, Norse Atlantic celebrated having sold more than two million tickets since the company’s inception in 2022. Furthermore, we have released for sale the final flights in our summer 2025 season going up to the end of October, allowing customers to book ahead and take advantage of our great value fares,” commented Bjørn Tore Larsen.
As for Boeing 787 news, the company recently signed an agreement with Joramco, an Amman-based aircraft MRO maintenance facility and engineering arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).
This is the first partnership between Joramco and Norse Atlantic Airways. Under this five-year agreement, Joramco will carry out maintenance checks on Norse’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
