The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Royal Air Maroc (RAM) have signed a partnership, naming Morocco’s national airline the “Official Global Partner” for some of the continent’s most prestigious upcoming football events, including the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 and the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024, CAF annnounced in a statement on Saturday.
The agreement also covers the CAF U-17 and U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2025, the CAF Champions League 2024/25 Finals, the CAF Confederation Cup 2024/25 Finals, and the CAF Women’s Champions League 2025.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe commended the partnership, stating: “We are excited about the partnership between CAF and Royal Air Maroc, a world-class airline that will provide comfort and fly National Teams participating in Africa’s premier tournaments.”
“We are confident AFCON Morocco 2025 will be the most successful in history,” he added.
Royal Air Maroc, which served as the Official Carrier of the Atlas Lions during their historic run to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals in 2022, is doubling down on its commitment to African football. The airline plans to ramp up its flight operations, expanding capacity to meet the expected demand from players, teams, and fans across the continent and diaspora.
“This historic partnership with CAF aligns perfectly with our strategic vision,” RAM CEO Hamid Addou said. “We are more than an airline, we are a bridge between cultures and passions. Supporting these major tournaments affirms our commitment to African unity and pride.”
Morocco is becoming a major global sports hub, hosting both the AFCON 2025 from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, and co-hosting the FIFA World Cup 2030. The CAF Women’s AFCON 2025 will also take place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, 2025.
