Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida Abdullah Al-Muasherji, issued the following statement:
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet was informed that His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, had designated His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to represent him at the upcoming second summit of the strategic dialogue between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Central Asian countries. The amended article allows a minister to grant an employee special leave, without deducting from their regular leave balance, to accompany a patient approved by the Ministry of Health for treatment abroad. This leave, with full salary, may extend up to one year and can be prolonged for an additional six months without pay. Salaries during this period shall be paid at the beginning of each month.
The Cabinet approved the draft amendment and resolved to submit it to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, for final approval.
