A Moroccan woman who is not even 30 years old is managing more than USD 3.8 billion in assets from Dubai’s financial district. Her name is Hasnae Taleb, and she is one of the youngest asset managers in the world to reach that scale, shattering industry norms across gender, geography, and age, Indian outlet Mid-Day reported.
Taleb was born in Khenifra, a small town in the mountains of central Morocco. She moved to the United States alone to study, working part-time jobs to cover tuition. There, she discovered trading. By 23, she had made her first million dollars. She says it came not by chance, but through discipline and deep knowledge of market behavior.
Her success led her to roles at Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, and NASA. At Nasdaq, she was recognized for outperforming quantum trading systems, an achievement that earned her the nickname “The Shewolf of Nasdaq.”
Rather than climb the corporate ladder, Taleb built it. She co-founded Mintiply Capital, an asset management firm now operating from Dubai’s DIFC. The firm oversees billions of dollars in assets and has arranged over USD 480 million in capital transactions. It also made a record-breaking USD 110 million ETF transaction in the GCC region.
Taleb admits she had doubts along the way about her age, background, and gender. “People underestimated me,” she said. “But I didn’t.” She now manages portfolios across private equity, digital assets, and venture capital, and advises startups and global investors alike.
Beyond her market expertise, she hosts a YouTube series, Unfiltered Talks, where she shares lessons on risk, negotiation, and resilience. She mentors young professionals, particularly women, and says representation is key: “If they don’t see someone like them in the room, they may never enter.”
Taleb is now looking to expand further in the Gulf, grow into digital finance, and launch her own ETF product line.
Her message is clear. “My goal isn’t just to manage billions. It’s to make billions meaningful.”
