Geekend, hosted by the Doha Film Institute, is a thrilling annual pop culture celebration that has transformed the Geekdom Building on Lusail Boulevard into a lively center of creativity. Since its inception in 2013, Geekend has become a highly anticipated event in Qatar’s geek community, drawing fans of gaming, anime, and pop culture for three immersive days filled with interactive activities.
Abdulla Al Mosallam, the visionary behind Geekdom, describes Geekend as a more intimate celebration within the larger framework of Geekdom, which stands as Doha’s most significant pop culture gathering. The event aims to create a safe space where talented individuals in Qatar can express their passions in anime, pop culture, and fandom. It offers a platform for creative collaboration, allowing enthusiasts to showcase their skills and connect with fellow fans.
The daily festivities began at 3 PM, with attendees thrilled to queue up for entry.

Alongside the art competition, attendees enjoyed an immersive experience called Tokyo Mystery—a thrilling escape room-style challenge where teams solved intricate puzzles inspired by Tokyo’s vibrant streets.
