The Qatari Cultural Week is currently taking place at the Dushanbe Opera House in Tajikistan, embracing art, tradition, and shared cultural values. This event is dedicated to highlighting the rich heritage of Qatar while fostering a cultural exchange between Qatar and Tajikistan.
The opening ceremony was graced by Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Culture, alongside his Tajik counterpart Mataluba Khon Sattoriyon Amonzoda. During the inauguration, Walid bin Abdulrahman Al-Rashidan, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, emphasized the importance of sharing cultural heritage, stating that such exchanges strengthen relationships and enhance communication among peoples.
Renowned Qatari artist Mansour Al-Mahendi delivered a captivating performance at the Dushanbe Opera House, which has been a pivotal venue for musical and performing arts in Tajikistan since its establishment in 1940.
Visitors to the cultural week can enjoy a diverse lineup of events, including:

– Displays of Qatari architecture illustrated through gypsum art
– Opportunities to wear traditional Qatari attire
– Tastings of authentic Qatari cuisine

Additionally, Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways are on-site with informational displays, while the Doha Film Institute presents short films created by Qatari filmmakers. This cultural week is a key part of a larger initiative by the Ministry of Culture aimed at promoting cultural exchanges throughout 2024.
