Qatari citizens, residents, visitors, and GCC citizens have a great opportunity to take advantage of a 50% discount on traffic violation fines until August 31. This discount, which has been available since June 1, aims to ease the financial burden on drivers, especially as the number of tourists in the region increases.
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) announced that this initiative applies to fines recorded within the last three years. It’s a convenient option for those who may have accumulated violations during their travels or while living in Qatar.
Starting in September, a new policy will take effect, prohibiting individuals with unresolved traffic violations from exiting the country until all fines are paid. This makes it crucial for offenders to address any outstanding payments before they plan to leave.
Payments for these fines can be made easily through the Metrash2 app, the Ministry’s official website, traffic departments, or unified service centers. It’s important to act quickly to take advantage of the discount before it ends.
