Fresh off its UEFA Champions League title, Paris Saint-Germain leads all French clubs with 16 players selected for the World Cup. The group includes Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Portugal’s Nuno Mendes, João Neves, Gonçalo Ramos, and Vitinha, Brazil’s Marquinhos, South Korea’s Lee Kang-in, Spain’s Fabián Ruiz, and Ecuador’s Willian Pacho.
Marseille contributes eight players to national teams, while Lille and Nice each provide seven. Monaco has six players in World Cup squads.
Morocco named five players from French clubs in its final roster: Hakimi, Marseille defender Nayef Aguerd, Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi, and Strasbourg players Samir El Mourabet and Yassine Gessime. Angers forward Amine Sbaï secured a place among Morocco’s reserve players.
Senegal has the largest contingent among African nations, with nine players who competed for French clubs this season.
