FIFA unveiled the official logo for the U17 Women’s World Cup on Monday, which will be held in Morocco for the next five competitions, starting in 2025, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
For the first time, 24 teams will compete in the tournament, which kicks off next year. FIFA said that the new logo reflects “a new era” for the competition. It features the trophy inside the “U” of “U17,” symbolizing the partnership between Morocco and FIFA, and the ambitions of young women players striving to achieve their dreams.
“The modern and dynamic design builds on the legacy of the U17 Women’s World Cup and looks ahead to the future of women’s football,” FIFA said in a statement.
The decision to award Morocco hosting rights through 2029 follows what FIFA described as the country’s long-standing investment in developing women’s football. The international body said the global spotlight will now give this effort the visibility it deserves.
FIFA also described the U17 Women’s World Cup as a key milestone in the growth of top young players worldwide.
The draw for the 2025 tournament will take place on Wednesday in Rabat.
