FROMM. showcased a cross-cultural design programme at Milan Design Week 2026, featuring a new capsule collection, an emerging designer exhibition and a regional partnership.
FROMM., the luxury contemporary furniture and accessories brand founded in Msheireb and Milan, returned to Milan Design Week 2026 with a multi-layered programme spanning collectable designs, emerging talent and regional expansion.
Through FROMM. collections and FROMM.Lab, the platform reinforced its role as a bridge between Middle Eastern creativity and international markets.
The programme was anchored by two parallel presentations. At Salotto Retori on Via della Spiga, FROMM. unveiled The Space Between, a capsule collection curated by Studio Salaris.
Conceived as a dialogue between Milan and Msheireb, the exhibition explored the relationship and interplay between Italian modernist rigour and the tactile, light-driven qualities of Doha’s architectural landscape.
The collection reinterprets FROMM.’s signature pieces, including seating, tables and lighting, through refined materiality, a “Transitional Light” palette of sandy neutrals and mineral tones, and new textile concepts inspired by desert landscapes and regional craft traditions.
“With The Space Between, we position FROMM. as a bridge between designers and the international market,” FROMM. founder and CEO Alia Rachid said.
“The collection reflects an ongoing dialogue between cultures and contexts, reinterpreting our core pieces into a more contemporary expression while staying true to the quality, comfort, and Made in Italy craftsmanship that define our work,” Rachid added.
In parallel, FROMM.Lab presented a preview of Interlaced at Alcova, marking the outcome of its first international design competition launched in 2025.
The open call drew more than 120 submissions from over 50 countries, with 12 finalists selected through a mentorship programme led by an international panel of designers and curators.
The preview featured works by four designers, offering an early look at a broader exhibition that reinterprets Arab heritage through contemporary design.
The full presentation is scheduled for the Design Doha Biennale in late 2026.
“This presentation at Alcova is an important step in that journey, giving visibility to a new generation of voices and reinforcing our commitment to supporting design as both a cultural and economic force across regions,” said Rachid.
Alongside its exhibitions, FROMM.Lab announced a new partnership with SPARK, Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park.
The collaboration will establish a dedicated programme focused on furniture and design, aimed at supporting emerging talent, fostering creative exchange and strengthening the regional design ecosystem.
“Signing this partnership in Milan, during one of the most important global design moments, makes it especially meaningful. It reflects the growing interest in connecting our region’s creative talent with international platforms,” Rachid added.
CEO of SPARK, Hussain Al Mahmoudi, said, “Collaborating with FROMM. and FROMM.Lab allows us to create meaningful pathways for designers from our region to engage internationally, while bringing global creative energy back to Sharjah.”
