TEHRAN (AP), Mar 27: Iran’s ambassador to South Korea, Saeed Koozechi, said Tehran considers Seoul a “non-hostile” country but stressed that South Korean vessels must coordinate with Iranian government and military authorities to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking at an event criticizing U.S. and Israeli actions, Koozechi added that Iran has asked Seoul to provide details of its ships currently stranded near the strait. He also stated that Tehran reserves the right to impose sanctions on U.S. and Israeli companies as a party to the conflict, without clarifying whether South Korean vessels trading with the U.S. could be affected. South Korea, meanwhile, says 26 of its ships remain in waters around the Strait of Hormuz.
