Japanese companies kicked off on Monday an exploratory mission in Rabat to strengthen economic ties with Morocco’s automotive sector. Organized by JETRO Rabat, in partnership with AMICA, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development, and the Tangier Med Special Agency, the mission runs until February 5, 2025.
Its aim is to introduce Morocco’s business environment to Japanese firms and showcase opportunities in the automotive industry.
The mission is expected to boost investment and promote exports of “Made in Morocco” products globally. Hicham Choudri, Director of Investment, highlighted Japan as a key partner, with over 70 Japanese companies currently operating in Morocco, particularly in automotive manufacturing. He praised Morocco’s strong economic climate under King Mohammed VI’s leadership.
The mission will also visit Kenitra and Tangier, attracting industry stakeholders from Europe, the Middle East, and Japan. This effort follows Morocco’s recent push to position itself as a top investment hub for Japanese firms.
