The 19th edition of Jazzablanca concluded after ten days of music and entertainment, attracting nearly 100,000 festivalgoers and reaffirming its position as one of Africa’s leading cultural events.
Held from July 2 to 11 across Anfa Park and the Arab League Park in Casablanca, this year’s festival brought together an international lineup spanning jazz, pop, soul, rock, Afrobeat, blues, and world music. The diverse program featured globally renowned artists alongside emerging talents, offering audiences a broad musical experience.
Among the festival’s headline performers were Robbie Williams, Scorpions, Mika, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jorja Smith, Jessie J, Naika, and Rilès. Organizers also maintained the festival’s strong connection to jazz through Stage 21, which hosted acclaimed artists including Yazz Ahmed, Theo Croker, José James with China Moses, Brian Jackson, Jowee Omicil, Hiromi, and Shabaka. The stage also showcased soul, blues, Afrobeat, and African music performances by artists such as Thee Sacred Souls, Madison McFerrin, Keziah Jones, Nubiyan Twist, Fantastic Negrito, Ami Taf Ra, and Bonga.
The closing night reflected the festival’s musical diversity. Sara Moullablad opened the evening with a performance blending jazz, Brazilian influences, and Moroccan chaâbi music. Madison McFerrin later captivated audiences with her minimalist soul and R&B style, while Hind Ennaira and Omary presented a fusion of Gnawa rhythms and electronic music.
British singer Jorja Smith performed in Morocco for the first time, delivering a set that combined R&B, soul, and pop. Jessie J closed the festival with an energetic performance that featured extensive interaction with the audience and a surprise appearance by Jorja Smith on stage.
The festival also embraced the excitement surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup by setting up a dedicated viewing area where attendees could watch Morocco’s matches between concerts.
Nearly 1,800 staff members, supported by more than 600 artists, musicians, and technicians, contributed to the successful organization of this year’s edition.
