Morocco’s cadet judo team secured 24 medals, including six gold, 12 silver, and six bronze, during the second day of the Casablanca African Open 2025 on Friday, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The gold medalists include Mohamed Taha El Agbani (-60 kg), Abderrahmane El Majjani (-66 kg), Safa Cherkaoui (-44 kg), Amina Alaoui Cherifi (-52 kg), Yasmine Hariss (-70 kg), and Jihane Rahma El Mansouri (+70 kg).
Silver medals were awarded to Marouane El Amrani (-50 kg), Anas Jaraf (-55 kg), Abderrahmane Lambarraa (-60 kg), Rayane Boukourate (-73 kg), Aymane El Ouard (-81 kg), Yahya Guassi (-90 kg), Meriem Belkhatir (-44 kg), Ambre Brassou (-48 kg), Hiba Jarra (-52 kg), Abir Bouazzaoui (-57 kg), Malak Lakhal (-70 kg), and Hiba Harakat (+70 kg).
The bronze medalists were Othmane Lahjioui (-50 kg), Younes Haouji (-55 kg), Adam Benkirane (+90 kg), Fatima Ezzahra Nidaoui (-48 kg), Amina Abboucha (-63 kg), and Alae Haiti (+70 kg).
The competition will continue over the weekend with events for senior men and women.
On the first day, the Moroccan junior judo team excelled by winning 29 medals, including eight gold, eight silver, and 13 bronze. The tournament features 304 athletes—186 men and 118 women—from 34 countries, showcasing top talent in African and international judo.
