The Moroccan ruling coalition has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing employment challenges, announcing plans to unveil a new roadmap for job creation in the coming weeks.
Developed using an integrated, multi-dimensional approach, the strategy aims to stimulate investment in high-employment sectors while mitigating the impact of drought-related job losses in rural areas.
This announcement followed a regular meeting of the coalition leadership, chaired by Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and attended by key political figures from the National Rally of Independents (RNI), the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), and the Istiqlal Party.
The government’s employment roadmap is expected to revitalize job creation by encouraging private sector investment and addressing rural unemployment caused by successive years of drought. The coalition also emphasized its broader social and economic agenda, which includes expanding social protection programs such as direct social aid and housing assistance, enhancing healthcare and education reforms to improve public services, and investing in water and energy security, particularly in the hydrogen sector.
Authorities highlighted Morocco’s growing economic appeal, noting record tourism figures in 2023, with 17.4 million visitors making the country Africa’s leading tourist destination.
On the international front, the ruling coalition welcomed the ceasefire in Gaza and called on the global community to facilitate a political resolution between Palestine and Israel.
It reaffirmed Morocco’s support for a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and commended King Mohammed VI’s leadership as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee in defending Palestinian rights and ensuring the preservation of Jerusalem’s cultural and religious heritage.
Domestically, the coalition praised the government’s swift response to King Mohammed VI’s directives on family code reform, citing the formation of a ministerial drafting committee tasked with revising the legal framework. It stressed the importance of public engagement in shaping these reforms while warning against political or ideological exploitation of the issue.

Additionally, the government underscored its commitment to economic stability, pointing to its effective measures against inflation and efforts to stabilize food prices ahead of Ramadan. Authorities have pledged to increase oversight of price controls and ensure that market supplies remain adequate.
The ruling coalition also lauded the parliamentary majority’s cohesion in advancing key government programs and acknowledged constructive opposition voices for their role in enriching legislative debates. As it looks ahead to the remainder of its term, the government has vowed to accelerate its initiatives and fulfill its commitments, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a stable and growing economy.
