The Moroccan national futsal team won the Berkane International Futsal Tournament on Tuesday after defeating Libya 6–0 in the final in Berkane, in eastern Morocco.
Morocco took control of the match early, with Hicham El Mesrar scoring twice and Idriss Raiss Fenn adding another goal. Morocco also benefited from an own goal by a Libyan player to end the first half with a commanding lead.
In the second half, Mohamed Reda Medih extended the advantage before goalkeeper Youssef Ben Salam added the sixth goal with a long-range strike after the Libyan keeper moved forward.
The tournament formed part of Morocco’s preparations for the upcoming Africa Futsal Cup of Nations.
National coach Hicham Dguig called up a 20-player squad for the international event as part of the team’s buildup to the continental competition.
