Morocco’s tourism revenue reached MAD 112 billion in 2024, marking a 43% increase compared to 2019 and a 7% rise from 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
In December alone, revenues soared to nearly MAD 8 billion, an 11% increase year on year.
The record-breaking revenue highlights Morocco’s growing appeal and its ability to attract diverse and high-quality arrivals, as reflected in the 20% surge in tourists in 2024, the ministry said in a press release.
“This growth reflects the maturity of Moroccan tourism, which has successfully adapted to global trends while leveraging its natural, cultural, and human assets,” Morocco’s Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said.
Ammor added that Morocco is now focused on offering diverse and authentic experiences that meet travelers’ expectations, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Beyond its economic impact, the results underscored tourism’s key role in job creation and local development, the statement added.
