The Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar, one of Morocco’s most prominent religious and cultural festivals, concluded Saturday under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI after drawing a record 450,000 participants, according to organizers.
This year’s edition, which began on August 8, featured 130 male and three female sorbas in traditional Tbourida performances, alongside falconry shows, Qur’anic recitals, religious lectures and concerts of popular Moroccan music.
Nearly 42,000 tents were set up to host attendees, creating significant economic and commercial activity in the region, communal council president Mehdi El Fatemi told MAP.
El Fatemi described the 2025 edition as a success in both organization and content, citing the diversity of its artistic and spiritual program. He added that the scale of participation underscored the need for forward planning to further enhance the festival in future years.
