Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club and Spanish side Sevilla FC have officially announced a friendly match scheduled for May 27 at 8 p.m. at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca.
The match is part of Wydad’s preparations for the expanded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13.
Sources previously confirmed to Hesport that Wydad had reached an agreement with both Sevilla and Portuguese club FC Porto to play two high-profile friendlies ahead of the tournament.
Following the Sevilla clash on May 27, Wydad will host Porto at the same venue on May 31.
The Casablanca-based club is expected to resume training early next week, immediately after wrapping up its domestic league campaign, where it contended for second place until the final matchday.
Wydad was drawn into Group G of the upcoming Club World Cup, alongside European powerhouse Manchester City, Italian giants Juventus, and UAE’s Al Ain.
