American actress Sandra Oh stuns in a traditional Moroccan caftan on the official poster for Good Fortune, a new comedy written and directed by Aziz Ansari.
Wearing a lemon-green and gold metallic floral brocade caftan, Oh channels timeless elegance in the garment, which features a vintage silhouette, wide sleeves, and intricate sfifa yarn detailing.
Handmade in Morocco, the piece is enhanced by artisanal trimming and a distinctive neckline that subtly adds an air of mystery to her character, Martha.
The caftan, a central costume in the film, was carefully selected by renowned costume designer April Napier, celebrated for her ability to imbue her characters with depth through authentic vintage pieces. Napier’s decision to dress Oh in the traditional Moroccan attire not only grounds the character in a refined aesthetic, but also pays homage to rich North African craftsmanship.
“This caftan brings an understated sophistication to Martha,” Napier said, “while also rooting her identity in something meaningful and beautifully made.”
Good Fortune will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September 2025, ahead of its U.S. theatrical release on October 17.
