The Pickalbatros Group, an Egyptian hospitality brand, is making significant strides in Morocco by adding four new hotels to its portfolio. Under the leadership of President Kamal Abu Ali, the group now offers over 2,600 rooms throughout the country.
Key Highlights:
- The latest acquisitions include three hotels in Marrakech:
- Club Sangho with 349 rooms
- Palmeraie Palace and Golf Hotel, which has a combined 640 rooms
- Additionally, in Agadir, Pickalbatros has acquired the Palais des Roses, featuring 410 rooms.
- Several of these newly acquired properties are set for renovations, with plans to reopen in 2025.
- With a total investment of $200 million, Pickalbatros currently manages seven hotels in Morocco and is actively searching for further expansion opportunities.
- President Abu Ali emphasized the tourism growth potential in Morocco, noting that Pickalbatros attracted 1.4 million tourists to Egypt last year and has welcomed around one million this year. He attributes their success to a focus on coastal tourism and aims to apply the same strategy in Morocco.
- "We intend to bring the same successful approach to our Moroccan operations," Abu Ali stated.
The company’s expansion reflects a broader trend of increasing investment in Morocco’s tourism sector, poised for further development in the coming years.
