French sports daily L’Équipe noted that Morocco’s odds appear ambitious for a team that has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1976, while Egypt’s chances align with its historical dominance of the competition.

Ivory Coast, Mali and Cameroon sit in the chasing pack, while nine teams enter the tournament with title probabilities below 1 percent.

Morocco open the tournament against Comoros on Sunday night at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
