JR Gray clinched the 2025 NHRA Pro Mod world title for Al Anabi Racing with a dramatic season-ending win at the Nevada Nationals.
As the dust settled on Sunday evening, JR Gray with Al Anabi Racing Camaro emerged victorious, securing both the event win and the 2025 world title in a dramatic season finale.
JR Gray, driving the Al Anabi Racing Camaro owned by Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, chairman of the Qatar Racing Club, claimed victory in the final round of the JBS Equipment-powered NHRA Nevada Nationals.
He defeated Billy Banaka at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, securing a memorable win for the team.
“This is what we’ve worked toward all year,” said Gray in the winner’s circle. “Our entire Al Anabi Racing crew gave me a car capable of winning a championship. To win the race and the title – it doesn’t get any better than this.”
In one of the most thrilling conclusions in NHRA Pro Mod history, JR Gray and the Al Anabi Racing Team entered the final event just one point behind the leader, Billy Banaka.
Championship frontrunner Banaka arrived in Las Vegas and quickly set the pace by qualifying No. 1, while Gray remained close, determined to seize the title on his own terms.
With four event victories, five final-round showings, and the FuelTech “King of the Stripe” title, the Al Anabi Racing driver showcased his skill, determination, and versatility as one of the series’ top competitors.
“This team never stopped working,” Gray said.
“Every round, every pass – they gave me the confidence to go out and do my job. A championship like this doesn’t happen without total commitment from everyone involved.”
The team’s combination of tuning precision, mechanical excellence, and disciplined execution powered Gray through every challenge.
From Gainesville to Bristol and finally to Las Vegas, the Al Anabi Racing Camaro remained a constant threat, delivering performance when it mattered most.
The victory also solidified Al Anabi Racing’s return to championship form and highlighted the collective effort that carried the team through one of the tightest points battles in NHRA Pro Mod history.
With the NHRA Pro Mod world championship trophy now secured, Gray and the Al Anabi Racing team are already preparing to defend their crown in 2026.
“Winning one is special,” Gray said with a grin. “But now we’ve got a target on our back – and that’s exactly where we want to be,” concluded JR Gray.
