Spain’s low-cost airline Vueling launched a new route between Barcelona and Nador on Monday, adding another link between Spain and northeastern Morocco as part of its network expansion under International Airlines Group.
The airline will operate two flights per week at the start, scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It plans to increase service during the summer season, with four weekly flights set for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The new route strengthens connectivity between Catalonia and Morocco’s Rif region, an area with strong diaspora ties to Spain. It also targets seasonal travel demand, which rises during summer as Moroccan expatriates return home.
Vueling said it already connects Barcelona with several Moroccan cities, including Agadir, Essaouira, Marrakech, and Tangier.
The airline will add another route to Fes in June, further expanding its footprint in the country.
