Moroccan artist Khaoula Moujahid, known by her stage name Jaylann, appeared on one of the giant digital billboards in Times Square, marking a proud moment for Moroccan music on the global stage.
The recognition came as Spotify selected Jaylann as Morocco’s ambassador for its “EQUAL Arabia” program for October, an initiative launched in 2022 to celebrate and promote Arab women artists through global exposure and promotional support.
Expressing her gratitude, Jaylann said the Times Square display was a “dream come true,” made possible by her team’s efforts and her fans’ continuous support. The image quickly went viral across social media, with fans sharing photos of the billboard and praising her for representing Morocco in a campaign dedicated to women’s empowerment in music.
