Prince Moulay Rachid, president of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, accompanied by Princess Lalla Oum Kalthoum, presided on Saturday over a royal dinner hosted by King Mohammed VI to mark the official opening of the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival in the Bab Ighli district.

The prince and princess were received with military honors before greeting senior government officials, including Economy and Finance Minister Nadia Fettah, Minister of Territorial Planning and Mayor of Marrakech Fatima Zahra Mansouri, Tourism Minister Fatima Zahra Ammor, and Youth and Culture Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, according to organizers.

Also present were regional and local authorities, as well as senior executives of the festival foundation, including Deputy President Faycal Laraichi and Artistic Director Rémi Bonhomme.

Following the reception, Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Oum Kalthoum met the international jury of the 22nd edition, alongside invited global film figures and institutional partners.

The Marrakech International Film Festival is one of Morocco’s flagship cultural events, positioning the city as a regional hub for cinema and international cultural exchange.
