Morocco’s financial markets regulator approved on Wednesday a capital increase by French multinational Veolia Environnement, paving the way for the company to offer shares to its local employees as part of a global staff ownership initiative, according to a statement.
The Moroccan Capital Markets Authority (AMMC) approval could involve issuing up to 14.8 million new shares. The final subscription price will be set on July 30, 2025.
The share offer will be available to employees of Veolia’s Moroccan subsidiaries, including Veolia Services à l’Environnement Maroc, Veolia Environnement Industries Maroc, Amendis, Redal, Amanor, and VEOS Déchets Dangereux. The subscription period in Morocco runs from June 19 to June 30.
This initiative is part of Veolia’s global strategy to increase employee ownership, offering staff across its international operations a chance to become shareholders in the company. The program is designed to foster employee engagement and align staff interests with Veolia’s long-term growth.
