Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United’s right-back, will miss Morocco’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Central African Republic due to injury, as confirmed by the Moroccan Football Federation. To fill the gap left by Mazraoui, Coach Walid Regragui has called up Youssef Belammari for the matches scheduled on October 12 and 15.
Mazraoui, who only recently joined United from Bayern Munich, was substituted at halftime during the team’s recent goalless draw against Aston Villa. His withdrawal comes amid a series of injury issues plaguing the Red Devils, with center-back Harry Maguire and winger Alejandro Garnacho also sidelined due to their respective injuries.
In addition, young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has had to leave the latest England squad because of injury concerns. Manager Erik Ten Hag is currently facing a challenging situation with a lengthy injury list that also includes players like Leny Yoro, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount.
As the team sits in 14th place in the Premier League after seven matches, there is hope for a quick recovery of the injured players ahead of their next home game against Brentford on October 19.
